I don’t have too many thoughts on this. I enjoyed it, perhaps more than the first. But I still have issues with Collins’ writing overall and that kind of puts a damper on any emotional connection I attempt to have with this series beyond the implications. I appreciated the Quarter Quell, I loved Finnick, and I liked the expansion of the cast, but this felt at times like 2 separate books merged into one, their divide so absolute that I tend to forget what happened in the beginning of the book in favor of the second half. I did really like it though, and started reading the third and final book almost immediately after finishing this one.
